Gila River Sand & Gravel Scale House
Pacific Mobile Structures partnered with Phoenix Modular to deliver a 1,584-square-foot, three-section modular scale house for Gila River Sand & Gravel’s mining operation in Bapchule, Arizona. The new facility replaced an aging modular building that had been on-site for over 30 years. The scale house plays a key role in weighing trucks that collect landscaping materials from the mine, supporting daily operations and customer transactions.
To maintain continuity and reduce site disruption, the new modular structure was installed in the same location as the previous unit. Our team worked closely with the customer to adapt the building to the existing site layout, including alignment with the scale platform, integration with camera and X-ray systems, and plug-in compatibility with legacy wiring.
A critical part of the design was matching the height and door locations to the customer’s existing ramp system. This helped reduce installation costs and ensured a smooth transition for daily use. The exterior of the building was also customized to fit under a pre-installed awning, allowing the customer to reuse it without adjustments.
Inside the building, a kitchenette was included for convenience, and the flooring was installed after delivery. To complete the finish, we provided polish and wax, leaving the space clean and ready for occupancy. These thoughtful design and construction details allowed the project to be completed just 21 days after delivery.
Gila River Sand & Gravel chose Pacific Mobile Structures for our responsive service and competitive pricing. The AZ Scale House project showcases how modular construction can be customized to meet the exact requirements of specialized industrial facilities while staying on schedule and within budget.
