Pawnee ISD Education Building

Pacific Mobile Structures recently completed a 5,280-square-foot permanent modular education building for the Pawnee Independent School District (ISD) in just 66 days from delivery to occupancy. In collaboration with Palomar Modular Buildings, Villagomez Engineering Company, and L & I Transport Inc., we provided a timely and efficient solution to meet the district’s urgent need for additional space to accommodate a growing student population across three counties.

Faced with limited contractor availability in a remote location and unexpected weather delays that flooded the foundation, we successfully maneuvered the building into a tight site with only 10 feet available between the gym and the new structure. Our commitment to customer service was exemplified by our willingness to meet with Pawnee ISD on a Saturday for the initial consultation, fostering a strong collaboration with the district, which was a pleasure to work with and remained consistently engaged throughout the process.

The design includes a breezeway connecting the new building to the existing school, featuring a blue steel roof that matches the existing structure, providing seamless access for students while enhancing their safety. The facility features five classrooms, two locker rooms, and two restrooms, all equipped with fire sprinklers, epoxy flooring, and brick wainscoting to complement the existing school. Additionally, drought-resistant landscaping was incorporated.

Cost efficiency was a key achievement, with the modular building completed at a fraction of the cost of conventional construction. This enabled Pawnee ISD to fund the project using existing resources, avoiding the need for a bond and preserving financial flexibility for their
educational goals.

The project was completed on time, enabling students to occupy the new facility at the start of the school year. The collaborative relationship with Pawnee ISD, marked by their timely responses and willingness to partner, made the process enjoyable and efficient. This project
exemplifies Pacific Mobile Structures’ dedication to delivering high-quality modular solutions tailored to our clients’ unique needs, successfully meeting Pawnee ISD’s expectations and
enhancing educational resources for the community.
