City of Nehalem City Hall

This building was built to replace the City of Nehalem’s old city headquarters. 

This was a full turnkey project including site work, civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, building design, fabrication, installation and permitting. Site work included a retaining wall, wrap around walkway, sidewalks and landscaping. Preservation plans were set in place during construction to preserve a 100 year old tree that was located on the property. The interior of the building consisted of a 13’ finished floor was a requirement due to flood zone regulations. Porches give cover to 12’x14’ recessed entries which open to a hallway and an interior with light painted walls, multiple windows and access to the City Office, Council Chambers and public restrooms.

Michels Groveland Custom Lease

The City of San Francisco Public Utilities Commission embarked on a five-year $140 million project to repair, rehabilitate and upgrade the 19-mile-long Mountain Tunnel, a key component of the Hetch Hetchy Water System that takes water from Tuolumne County and sends it to San Francisco. The contract for the project was awarded to Michels Corporation. As a result, Michels Corporation needed to provide temporary office and administrative space, including restrooms and showers for the City of San Francisco Employees.
