Clark Construction SDSU Aztec Stadium
Clark Construction was hired by San Diego State University (SDSU) to design and construct a 35,000-capacity stadium to serve SDSU Aztecs football team. Longtime Pacific Mobile customer, Clark Construction, was in immediate need of 18,720 square feet of temporary mobile and modular space for their team as they work on this high-profile, two-year project. The completion timeframe and the buildings’ quality were critical, and Clark Construction looked to Pacific Mobile to fulfill this immediate need.
Pacific Mobile worked closely with the customer and the factory, Silvercreek Industries, to uniquely build four custom modular and mobile buildings that would supply significant office, conference, shower, and restroom space for the general construction team. An 180’x84’ modular office building, 36’x60’ and 24’x60’ modular open office, 12’x60’ mobile men’s, women’s, and unisex restroom and shower facility were all delivered within two weeks. New and innovative approaches to the building design were taken to accommodate social distancing. Custom 12’ floor-to-ceiling windows were designed to maximize natural light that would allow for the contractors to view the jobsite easily from the offices. These brand-new buildings were built to the new energy codes and resource efficiencies were used such as automatic light sensors and energy.
The benefit of temporary relocatable buildings is that they can be explicitly designed to be repurposed multiple times. These buildings were designed to be repurposed into 20 different buildings and transported when the project is finished.
